Year 2 had a super World Book Day....
Yet again we were amazed by the wild and wacky range of book character costumes! Horrid Henry was really frightful as were the snapping crocodiles..watch out Hook!
Year 2 took this opportunity to practise their Talk4Write session and very aptly there were a number of traditional tale characters who joined in enthusiastically.
The children have been learning the traditional tale of the Three Billy Goats Gruff with an alternative ending.
Talk4Write has supported their reading into writing wonderfully and the children have produced some super writing based on the idea of the Billy Goats Gruff. Although in their stories there wasn't a billy goat in sight!
Many of the children's stories contained three dragons, three blind mice, three princes or princesses and even three cute dwarfs trying to find diamonds in a mine. Miss Fortner and Mrs Davis were very proud of the effort they put into their ides and their independent writing. Well done year 2!
The children are absolutely brilliant at retelling stories with excitement, enthusiasm and a dash of the dramatic!
